How can the construction industry work smarter, reduce unnecessary costs and improve quality at the same time? These are questions that matter to Joel Gardek, Managing Director of TECE Sweden. At Nordbygg Väst on 21–22 April 2027, the company wants to discuss the future of installations and meet both new and existing customers.
After several years of exhibiting at Nordbygg in Stockholm, TECE is ready for the inaugural Nordbygg Väst. The company already has a strong local presence, with both a regional office and a store at Argongatan 3 in Mölndal, bringing it closer to customers in western Sweden. This local presence is an important part of TECE’s approach to customer relationships.
Our brand promise is ‘close to you’, and for me, that means more than geographical proximity. It is about being accessible, understanding our customers’ everyday challenges and providing the right knowledge and solutions. Nordbygg Väst is another way for us to deliver on that promise, says Joel Gardek.
Smart solutions with installers in mind
At Nordbygg Väst, TECE aims to showcase the breadth of its product range – from installation systems and WC frames to underfloor heating, drainage systems and modern bathroom solutions. The common goal is to make installations simpler, safer and more efficient.
The everyday needs of installers play a central role in TECE’s product development. The aim is to simplify tasks and reduce installation times without compromising on quality. At the same time, TECE wants to demonstrate how technology and design can work together to create functional and sustainable bathroom environments, both in new-build projects and renovations.
Looking beyond the purchase price
Following several challenging years marked by declining new construction, pressure on margins and market uncertainty, there remains a significant need for both new housing and the modernisation of existing properties.
Joel Gardek believes the industry should take a broader view of installation costs rather than focusing solely on the price of materials.
In our industry, there is still a strong focus on the purchase price. But to assess what an installation actually costs, we also need to consider labour time, quality, operational reliability and future maintenance. That is where long-term value is created.
As construction activity recovers, the industry needs to consider how to build smarter, Joel believes. A solution that simplifies installation, lasts longer and requires less maintenance may prove more cost-effective in the long run.
Digitalisation and collaboration can create new opportunities
Better information flows, easier access to technical documentation and more efficient working methods can help streamline processes across the construction industry. This applies throughout the entire process, from design and product selection to installation and technical support.
I believe there is still a great deal to gain from simplifying how we work and share knowledge across the industry. Technology is an important enabler, but it is our understanding of people and their needs that determines whether it actually creates value.
Joel also sees a need for closer collaboration between manufacturers, installers, contractors and property owners, making information easier to find and use in everyday work.
Listen first, sell later
At Nordbygg Väst, TECE hopes to meet installers, contractors, consultants and property owners – both familiar faces and people who may not yet know the full extent of the company’s offering.
I believe the best business opportunities often arise when we move beyond discussing individual products and start exploring solutions to real problems.
Through conversations with customers, the company gains a clearer understanding of the challenges they face and how their needs change over time.
Closer to the industry in western Sweden
For Joel Gardek, a new meeting place in western Sweden is a welcome initiative. Its proximity to the local market makes it easier for more people to attend, particularly those working directly on construction projects. Regional events can also create opportunities for more focused discussions about local conditions and collaboration.
For TECE, the inaugural event offers an opportunity to strengthen customer relationships in the region and share its expertise.
We are really looking forward to being involved from the very beginning and hope that Nordbygg Väst will establish itself as an important, long-term meeting place for the industry.
